Hi. I’m Alison.
I live in Southern California.
I am a Certified Health Coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, the world’s largest nutrition school. I have a Bachelor of Science from UC Berkeley in Conservation and Resource Studies, where I focused on food policy and agricultural ecology. I studied abroad in Peru on a Fair Trade coffee cooperative and also did undergraduate research with the Berkeley Center for Weight & Health and Alice Waters’ Edible Schoolyard program on the effects of garden curriculum on childhood nutrition.
I ran the Philadelphia Marathon in 2013 with my mother and the New York City Marathon in 2014 for charity Every Mother Counts, raising nearly $4k to help make childbirth safe for every mother. Death during pregnancy and childbirth is still a leading cause of death for women in developing countries. The US has the highest rate of pregnancy and child-birth related deaths among first-world countries. I donate 5% of my coaching revenue to this charity. Please consider getting involved by joining our running team or making a donation. Donating a percentage of my earnings is a way for me to practice regular gratitude for the abundance in my life and the luck that I was born with so many advantages. I also sponsor a girl in Colombia so she can attend school.
I am a Huffington Post blogger and speak at conferences in the US and Europe about trust, intimacy, and intuition.
I am on a quest to always improve my physical and mental health, learn more and share more of what I learn with others.
